Heritage Woods Green Burial

This is a natural, direct earth burial where your remains are encased in a biodegradable casket, container, or shroud and become part of the naturally flourishing forested area.

To facilitate natural forestation, individual lot assignments in Heritage Woods are only made when needed. Purchasers of pre-need interment rights in a Heritage Woods interment zone do not have a specific zone or lot assigned to them until the time it needs to be used.

The communal memorial for this location will be a stone nestled within the living ecosystem of Heritage Woods.

The individual grave becomes part of the local natural landscape, contributing to the environmental sustainability of the larger, community eco-system and is collectively intended to become a living memorial to the person interred.

Approved plantings are coupled with the overall restoration and reforestation of the Heritage Woods ecosystem.

Visitors will be encouraged to use specially established memorial zones for reflection and remembrance, as individual grave locations will not be identifiable.

As trees and plants mature and become rooted in Heritage Woods zones, visitors will be discouraged from seeking individual graves as this will have a negative impact on the eco-system of Heritage Woods.

Heritage Woods Cremation Area

The cremation area in Heritage Woods has memorials along the path and allow 2-4 family members cremains to be interred together with a shared path memorial.

All Heritage Woods interments are permanent and irreversible.

Every Heritage Woods natural burial interment zone within the cemetery is protected in perpetuity and will not be converted to a conventional interment zone.
